Helping farmers navigate the world of education and prepare for working with schools.
We know you are concerned for the future of British farming and no doubt you are here because you believe education is an important tool in building the future we all want.
We want British farming and the countryside to thrive too and we know that public understanding and careers aspirations begin with good learning experiences. Whether you are just getting started with farm visits, are keen to develop your schools’ liaison, or have many years of experience and want to share your wisdom with others, we are here to help you.
Around half a million children visit the farm of a CEVAS accredited farmer every year, but we need far more farm visits if every child is to have the opportunity.
Our Farmer and Educator membership is for anyone who educates children and young people on the farm, whether occasionally or all the time. Be part of the network that influences policy, develops health and safety toolkits and promotes countryside visits, as well as receiving benefits like discounted workshops and events and a discounted DBS check.
For larger businesses, agri-businesses, farm groups, show societies and colleges we have a range of other membership packages that may be more appropriate.
Sign up to receive our regular FACE Newsletters and regional updates including new resources, events and workshops, and example experiences to learn from.
Whether you are just starting out, or have been working with school pupils for years, we have training packages and seminars to give you new skills and knowledge, and to network with other farmers.
The FACE Regional Consultants are available to provide bespoke advice and training. You can commission one or more members of the team to: design a farm trail; support school visits to the farm; deliver training to a group of farmers; co-ordinate schools work in your area.
The Visit My Farm website — managed by Farming & Countryside Education along with other partners — holds many resources, guides and activities to enhance farm visits. You'll discover the benefits of school visits, learn how to plan them, and find fresh ideas to build on your success.
