BPEX and EBLEX are divisions of the Agriculture & Horticulture development Board. The divisions are funded and work on behalf of English Beef, Lamb and Pork producers to enhance efficiency, profitability and sustainability in the red meat industry.
Livestock farmers have a long history of supporting food and farming education. BPEX and EBLEX jointly fund an education web site www.meatandeducation.com with an extensive range of resources for teachers and students from Key Stage 3 to
A level. For young people who love cooking EBLEX offer an annual competition Red Tractor beef and lamb Mmmake it with Mince Challenge. The challenge, which is free to enter, is designed to engage, educate and inspire students at Key Stages 3 and 4 (age 11 – 16) to get cooking and appreciate the importance of good nutrition and quality ingredients.

Meat and education web site supports both the practical needs of teachers and the development of valuable life skills in students, which benefits them in their lives outside school. The resources on the site will meet the different curriculum requirements of Food Technology, Home Economics and Catering in England and Wales. Digital film clips, power point presentations, interactive games and challenges, student friendly recipes, news and research are amongst the range of material that can be downloaded. Topics covered include livestock farming, meat production and processing, nutrition, sustainability and the science of meat cookery. http://www.meatandeducation.com
