The Farming ThingThis new "Layman's Guide to Farming" is a fascinating little book which explains all those terms which farmers use. Teg - a sheep in its second year;
Long leys - generally grassland down for more than 5 years;
Finish - the animal has the right amount of fat to meat to be sold.

But it does much more than this.  In a slim volume it covers livestock, poultry, hedgerows, woodland, soil and land management, crops and all the current issues affecting these.
