Take part in Bee Scene in 2011
Thursday, 14 October 2010 12:49

BeesceneOver 2000 primary school children across England took part in a Bee Scene expedition between April and August 2010 to decide whether their local green space was good for bumblebees or not.

Their decision was based on an assessment of the wildflowers they could spot in their local spaces. Many schools went beyond their school grounds, exploring local woods, fields, parks and nature reserves.

The survey will be running again in 2011 when new supporting materials will be available online from mid March 2011. We are giving schools in England the opportunity to new supporting materials and stickers – of which only a limited number will be available.

You can find out more about the survey by visiting www.wildaboutplants.org.uk/beescene and downloading the Bee Scene feedback report. To receive free resources download the resource application form and return a completed form to us by January 31st 2011.

Bee Scene is a national survey designed especially for primary school children. The survey is simple to complete and provides an easy way for children to become citizen scientists and contribute to monitoring the natural environment.
