There are several footpaths on the farm but not all of the historically-based routes are in sensible places.

As a move to improve their value to walkers, discussions are being held about re-routing some of the paths to make them more user-friendly both to walkers and to the farm.

This is a time-consuming process which involves obtaining complete and unanimous local agreement. It began in 1993 and is still not complete. In an era when stress needs reducing, the blocking attempts by some organisations - which are responsible for the delay - are nothing but cynical. It is little surprise that farmers like us do not always find it easy to co-operate in providing access to their land. We hope to complete the changes this year.
