Following changes in the market in 2001 & 2002, 100 cows were sold in July '03 to prevent the need to sell surplus milk produced organically, at conventional prices. Demand is still rising in the organic market overall and it is hoped to expand the herd when this occurs. These changes also resulted in a reduction of staff members. Currently, the farm owns approximately 130% of the quota it needs for the milk it produces. | |
