Resources for Schools

It can be hard to find clear, unbiased resources about farming and food production. We create classroom resources across all key stages and subjects to help teachers deliver high quality learning about food, farming and the countryside.

In collaboration with over 30 other organisation and in response to demand from the teaching profession, we have developed Countryside Classroom, an online portal that links to resources and support provided by many organisations, including FACE.

What do we offer?

We can help you

  • Access a library of resources covering all relevant topics through the food, farming and countryside spectrum.
  • Find supporting resources to help with a multitude of curriculum subjects including Science, Geography, Design and Technology, English and many more that you might not expect. We believe that the whole curriculum can be taught through the lens of food and farming.
  • Explain the benefits of farm visits to senior management.
  • Tackle the process of planning safe and successful visits.

FACE has been a leading provider of teaching resources since 2001; we offer resources to suit a range of subjects and ages in varying formats.

You can find all our teaching resources on Countryside Classroom, the online portal that links to resources and support provided by a number of organisations, including FACE.

If you spot a need that isn’t currently met or have an idea for a new learning resource, please get in touch to tell us.

Why Farming Matters

Why Farming Matters is our flagship resource for primary schools, developed in conjunction with the National Farmers’ Union. The resource consists of an activity booklet (available online as an e-book), a selection of photos, an accompanying website and a series of videos.

It can be hard to find clear, unbiased resources about farming and food production. We create classroom resources across all key stages and subjects to help teachers deliver high quality learning about food, farming and the countryside. For food, farming and the natural environment, Countryside Classroom is the biggest gateway to resources, places to visit and expertise for schools. It is managed by us on behalf of a partnership of over thirty leading organisations and hundreds of other contributors.
