Code of PracticeEvery year millions of people visit premises where members of the public, particularly children, are encouraged to view or touch animals.

The purpose of this Code of Practice is to help ensure visitor health and safety by providing sensible, practical and proportionate guidance on preventing or controlling ill health at visitor attractions.

Teacher's Information Pack These materials were originally produced by Farming and Countryside Education (FACE) for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to help farmers make the most of school visits arranged as part of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme and Higher Level Entry Scheme.

Syngenta also provided funding to make the materials more widely available.

These materials and templates can be adapted quickly and easily to reflect your own local situation, and the facilities and resources available for school parties.
