DESC gardenWe are delighted to welcome Gaina Dunsire as our new East of England Regional Education Co-ordinator from January 2016.

Gaina takes over the role from Moya Myerscough who has built up a tremendous network of contacts in the region over the past eight years.  We wish Moya a very happy retirement.  She is not deserting us completely, remaining as a trainer on our Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme (CEVAS).

Gaina has a passion for food, farming and education. She taught for 12 years in Secondary Schools in London, the Middle East and Suffolk, before an interest in permaculture led her to leave teaching to design and project manage an outdoor 'living classroom'.

After returning to the UK,Gaina completed an MSc in Ecological Food Systems and has worked on farms, in agricultural research and for a small food business. She also sits on the board of East Anglia Food Link.

She strongly believes in the importance of reconnecting young people and adults to food, farming and the countryside, and demonstrating how we can become more responsible consumers in order to make the food and farming sector more sustainable, both economically and environmentally.

From January, Gaina will be available via This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
