lunchboxscienceLunchbox Science is a set of eight new Science, Art and Writing (SAW) projects for primary schools which were launched in 2015.

The projects use practical science, creative writing and visual arts to explore the links between science and agriculture. Each project focuses on one ingredient from a typical lunchbox and was designed by a research scientist working in collaboration with a professional artist and a professional writer. Lunchbox Science is a partnership between the Science, Art and Writing (SAW) Trust and Farming and Countryside Education (FACE). The projects were trialled in Norfolk Primary Schools with Key Stage 2 children in the summer term 2015. The sessions will be available as lesson plans in Spring 2016. Following a Teacher CPD day in early March to introduce the lesson plans, they will be made freely available through www.face-online.org.uk , www.sawtrust.org and www.countrysideclassroom.org.uk
