Free Dairy Farm Visit Training
Tuesday, 02 February 2010 17:38
Free courses are available for teachers between 15th and 19th March to visit a dairy farm, to build confidence in taking children on farm visits around London and support learning outside the classroom.
This London Food Board Project, funded by Defra, organised by GOL with Farming and Countryside Education (www.face-online.org.uk), includes free supply cover and transport from central London. During the farm visits teachers will have an opportunity to:
• discover and discuss learning opportunities and curriculum links
• get support on the practicalities, such as health and safety and risk assessments
• develop their own personal knowledge
• identify resources to support learning in school
Each day we will leave London at 1.00 pm returning at 6.00, leaving from a different location, giving teachers from across London an opportunity to take part.
Places are expected to go quickly, so please contact Tim McGregor (
) for further details.
