Farm shops can offer school groups a range of learning opportunities across the curriculum in addition to topics such as 5-a-day and food miles.
School visits also provide an opportunity to show children the value of fresh, local produce as well as the possibility of increasing footfall as the children bring their parents on return visits.
This seminar will be hosted by HFG Farm Shop, just north of Norwich, with contributions from a Norfolk high school and from Hollow Trees Farm Shop (Semer, Suffolk).
Come prepared for a busy day and to go away with plenty of ideas to develop farm shop - school links!
PROGRAMME
9.45 – 10.00 Arrival at HFG Farm Shop – coffee or tea available
10.00 – 12.00 Welcome and introduction to the day

12.15 – 1.15 Drive to the Tithe Barn, Horstead (about 3.5 miles from HFG Farm Shop)
Buffet lunch of local produce
1.15 – 3.15 (The afternoon programme will take place in the Tithe Barn)
