Your portfolio

The best way to organise the CEVAS course materials is for you to maintain a portfolio of all the work you do. Ring binders or lever arch files are the most appropriate means for doing this. Items of work, plus any relevant supporting documents and resources, can then be kept together in an orderly manner. It is recommended that the work for each unit is stored in its own section and is clearly labelled.

Throughout the course you will undertake a total of nine assessment tasks in order to show that you have completed the required learning. Each task requires the production of a piece of work that your trainer will wish to see at the end. These nine items for assessment must be presented first in a separate section of your portfolio.

A Portfolio Cover Sheet is provided and should be placed at the front of your portfolio before the first of the nine assessment items; please make sure it is filled in. You are advised to tick off each assessment item on this sheet as you complete it.

It is also possible to keep track of your progress via our online learning resource. Once you complete the task at the end of a topic click on the "Topic Completed" button to mark this part of the unit as done. You will then be able to continue with the next topic or unit as appropriate.

As far as possible all your work should be personalised to match your circumstances and relate to your farm. You might wish to take advantage of the course to create materials based on your farm that you can use with visiting school parties.

Your portfolio will be returned to you once the final assessment of it has been made.
